Barakah is a comprehensive digital platform designed to streamline ethical giving and Islamic financial obligations. The app provides users with a transparent way to calculate Zakat, discover high-impact humanitarian projects, and track their personal contribution history through an intuitive "Impact Timeline."
The Challenge
The charitable sector often suffers from a "transparency gap," where donors feel disconnected from the ultimate outcome of their contributions. Additionally, calculating Zakat (obligatory charity) across various asset classes—like gold, silver, and liquid cash—can be complex and intimidating for the average user. The goal was to transform a high-friction financial process into a seamless, rewarding experience.
Our Solution
We developed a minimalist, "Green-Tech" aesthetic that evokes feelings of growth and peace. Automated Calculator: Simplified the Zakat process into a step-by-step wizard. Impact Dashboard: Created a visual "Impact Timeline" where users can see exactly where their money goes (e.g., Clean Water Wells in Sub-Saharan Africa). Urgent Appeals: A high-priority "Urgent Appeals" section on the home screen ensures immediate humanitarian needs are addressed quickly through one-tap donations.
